Kumkumadi Tailam is not a new invention. It is an ancient Ayurvedic formula, named after kunkuma — saffron — its hero ingredient. For generations, royal households across India used it as their nightly skin ritual, valued for its ability to brighten the complexion, fade dark spots, and reveal a natural, lit-from-within glow.

We started this brand because we believed this beautiful tradition deserved better. Not a watered-down version on a supermarket shelf, but the real thing — prepared with patience, with reverence, and with the right ingredients.

Our Craft

Every bottle is hand-blended in our small workshop in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. We follow the traditional taila paka vidhi method described in classical Ayurvedic texts — a slow infusion process where 26 precious herbs are simmered and steeped into cold-pressed sesame oil over several weeks. No shortcuts. No machinery in a rush.

Our Kashmiri saffron is sourced directly from growers in Pampore. The sandalwood, lotus, manjistha, vetiver, yashtimadhu and the rest of the herbal blend are sourced from trusted organic farms across India.

You can taste the difference between mass-produced and handcrafted. Skin can feel it too.

Why Only One Product?

Because we want to do one thing exceptionally well. Kumkumadi Tailam, when made authentically, is itself a complete skincare ritual — a serum, a moisturiser, a treatment, all in one. We would rather perfect this single formula than dilute our attention across a dozen products.
